Victor Mougel - Board Member & Co-Founder
After a childhood spent in the beautiful village of Pesmes, Victor studied in Lyon, where he obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. He then joined Prof. Marinella Mazzanti’s lab in CEA-Grenoble for his PhD in 2009 on uranium complexes. After completing his PhD, awarded by the best PhD thesis prize of the University of Grenoble, he moved to ETH Zürich, Switzerland as a Marie Curie ETH fellow in the group of Prof. Christophe Copéret. He came back in France in 2016 as a CNRS associate researcher at the College de France in the Laboratory of Chemistry of Biological Processes, and in December 2018 relocated to ETH Zürich as an assistant professor in Inorganic Chemistry. His current research topics are centered on the electrochemical transformation of environmentally relevant small molecules (N2, CO2, H2O) using renewable sources of electricity. In addition, he has been actively involved in the establishment of young researchers networks across Europe, as a former board member of the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) of EUCheMS and of the Young Network of the French Chemical Society (RJ-SCF).
